Services
Garden consultation
From $250 urban / $350 rural
A garden consultation is a good starting point to get a general sense of how permaculture principles could apply to your garden. Maybe you have some ideas and need someone to bounce them off. Or maybe you need some vital resilience information tailored to your circumstances during these challenging times. Optional add ins:

Intermediate garden design
$990 urban / $1190 rural
The concept design is a scale drawing of your whole block fitted onto an A3 paper size. The concept design shows placement of main features (veg beds, main paths, earthworks, garden borders, compost zones) and main trees. It is annotated with advice and suggested plants for different areas: we suggest a range of suitable plants but you get to decide exactly which you want. A summary explanation of the key concepts is also provided via email when the design is delivered to you. Optional add ins:

Detailed garden design
Price on application
The Detailed Garden Design service is very much tailored to your needs so can vary in considerably in scope and costs between jobs. At a minimum, the service provides more detailed drawing(s) than the intermediate design. These are usually scaled at 1:100 (1 cm represents 1 metre) on A3, but can be at finer resolutions if needed. This means you will normally receive a separate design for your front and back gardens for a standard block. Information about major trees and understorey plants may also be presented on separate design drawings, to ensure all the details are clearly visible and no image gets too cluttered! If you are the kind of person who would like a 'paint by numbers' blueprint of your land, or would prefer a more iterative and collaborative design process than the Intermediate design option, then this more-tailored detailed design service may be for you. |
Other Services
If you need specific advice, like options for water harvesting in your garden, advice or designs for non-residential spaces, or a quick sketch on some element, I can tailor services for you. |
Here's how much a garden can change in just 18 months:
Left: our first garden, just after we moved in. Right, view from top of steps, approx 18 months later, the garden is vigorously growing annual vegetables and perennial herbs. Despite the small size, we also included several apple trees, a cherry, an apricot, a fig, an almond and two pears, though they were still small when we took this photo. Dividing the garden into two connected spaces makes it feel more spacious even though there are many more plants than before.
